Gendered Consequences, UK: Tavistock 'Not Safe' for Kids, Stonewall Unsafe for Employers
Neither is on 'the right side of history'
Tavistock is closing. According to The Times today, Britain’s Gender Identity Services (GIDS) clinic has been told to stop work by the spring of 2023. The decision follows years of controversy as whistleblower after whistleblower came forward with disturbing stories of policy capture by a very narrow set of activists.

An evidence review led by pediatrician Dr. Hilary Cass has ordered that future cases of gender dysphoria should be seen at normal NHS locations where “holistic care” with “strong links to mental health services” will (we hope) do much more for distraught teenagers than “affirmation” and chemical castration.
Far too many gay and lesbian and bisexual children in the throes of adolescence, often living in homophobic families, have been affected. Another disturbingly large tranche of “patients” had strong indicators of autism. All of this information had to be forced out of Tavistock, which was not doing any real science in the course of this grand medical experiment on children.
England becomes the latest European country to reject pediatric transition. Across the western world, wherever evidence-based medicine is taking place in a free media environment, gender gibberish consistently loses as a model for medicalizing culturally-defined “gender nonconformity.”
Sweden saw child transition plummet immediately once detransition became a subject of public debate. Like the Johns Hopkins “gender medicine” clinic in 1979, Finland looked at their evidence and basically shut the whole thing down.

Of course, that is exactly why “this is not a debate” had to be the mantra, why the gender priests decided to install their new orthodoxy through policy capture instead of policy debate. Rather than submit gender gibberish to factual, rational examination, the entire project was re-launched in this century as a struggle session and they meant it to end that way before the consequences caught up with them.
Any effort to impose rules of evidence — that is, to do actual science — was systematically shut down as transphobia. Careful curation made the living nightmare of Jazz Jennings into a joyous celebration of Munchausen motherhood. The United States Secretary of Health and Human Services is a gibbering propagandist for WPATH, the former society for endocrine quacks that re-branded itself as the gold standard in pediatric medical transition. This ideology had succeeded at never having to defend its results, or submit to cross-examination. No more.

Courtrooms operate on facts and evidence. Barrister Allison Bailey won her case against Garden Court Chambers on Wednesday morning. Her soon-to-be-former law firm was found liable, which means ‘guilty,’ of targeting and harassing her at the direction of Stonewall. Although they escaped direct repsonsibility in the decision, Stonewall gave such terrible advice and counsel to a premiere British law firm that the firm now owes a substantial judgment to its own employee. Slow, slow clap. Her case is unrelated to Tavistock, but it is a good harbinger of how GIDS whistleblower Sonia Appleby’s case will go.
The usual suspects have spent the last two days trying to spin this litigation disaster as a win for Stonewall. Anyone looking at Stonewall’s “Diversity Champions” scheme will now understand that the organization takes no responsibility whatsoever for the consequences of following their very bad advice. Membership has become a liability. That is death to a policy nonprofit. (For a more complete view into just how bad this judgment really is for Stonewall, here are Clive Simpson and Dennis Noel Kavanaugh.) It took far too long for the wheels of law to turn, but the process of fact-finding has indeed ground out the problem.
Nor would the Cass review have taken place without Keira Bell, a brave young detransitioner who sued the Tavistock clinic only to lose on appeal. Here again, the crowing of gender identitarians was premature. Wherever courts and committees have done their normal work, gender identity gibberish loses because it cannot withstand evidentiary scrutiny.
The magic, life-saving effects ascribed to puberty blockade are a lie. An esoteric New Age woo concept layered over a fetishized medical fad and sold with the religious fervor of a cult on TikTok. Half camp preacher and faith healer, half snake-oil sales pitch, the gender project can only ever recruit, since it naturally reduces its own ability to reproduce by sterilizing the young. Worse still, we always knew that. The world forgot it on purpose and now the world will find out again the hard and expensive way.
As Tavistock whistleblower Az Hakeem recently explained on the Savage Minds podcast, there was never any non-zero, non-placebo evidence for the salvific effect of “trans men” making their ritual first-visit-to-the-beach-topless video. That is why the gender identity project has worked so assiduously to escape or circumvent all normal scientific or social scrutiny under happy rubrics of “diversity and inclusion.” This is why the gender project presses so hard at the doors of American churches right now (about which, more to be said some other time).
The evidence for the worst parts of the gender agenda has never existed. The project was entirely faith-based from the start and still has no supporting evidence. The evidence for pediatric transition is bad at existing. Courts will not be kind to its sales team.
Garden Court harassed and defamed a black lesbian for defending her right to exclude Alex Drummond from her dating pool, i.e. for her lesbianism. This was at the demand of Stonewall, ostensibly the all-inclusive defender of lesbians, with the witch hunt egged on by said white man in lipstick. These are facts. Stonewall must live with them, just as Keira Bell must live with the consequences of Tavistock’s “affirmation” agenda every day. Facts are stubborn things. They refuse to stop existing despite all efforts to ignore, obscure, or corrupt their existence.
Fact: Tavistock failed children. Fact: Stonewall advice is bad for your organization. Fact: puberty is the only “cure” for puberty. Maya Forstater had to lose her job for a British court to restore the necessary freedom to even talk about the failures and travesties of gender identity and the organizations promoting it. JK Rowling embraced the full wrath of cancel culture to support Forstater and was vindicated. In the long run, we have the facts on our side because they are stubborn things. It is just too bad so many heretics and unbelievers had to be canceled before the facts stood unquestionably on their side of history. Again.
