Edit: This post has been updated to correct a surname. We blame autocorrect and vow to stop composing in mobile.
It is all happening very fast now.
William Whitworth was arrested in Colorado Springs last Friday after police responded to a sister’s calls about his plans to shoot up churches and schools. He was arrested despite having no weapons.
Whitworth, 19, identifies as “Lilly” or “Lily” depending on how he feels at the moment. A mass shooter manifesto was reportedly discovered inside the home, which was filthy with hoarded food and garbage.
We do not know yet whether Whitworth was inspired by Audrey Elizabeth Hale, who killed three adults and three children at a Nashville, Tennessee school last Monday. It is not unreasonable to assume he was aware of those events.
Critics of the “gender identity” crusade have been calling out violence in that movement for years now, and it has been on display at multiple recent public events in the United States and around the world where police had to intervene against a violent mob — or worse, stood by and did nothing while a violent mob attacked women.
If American law enforcement agencies are alert to the emerging threat of gender jihadis, however, they have yet to acknowledge it. Democrats and the White House seem determined to pour fuel on their fire. This is all getting very dangerous, very fast.
Riley Gaines, the outspoken victim of paraphilic sports cheat Lia Thomas, was assaulted by an angry man in a dress last night, then besieged by an angry mob at San Francisco State University. Complaining about the clear violation of her Title IX rights makes Gaines too dangerous to live, apparently. Welcome to the American campus, home of liberal education.
Gaines was barricaded in a room for three hours. When police asked the violent mob to disperse, entitled brats demanded a ransom in exchange. Kidnapping, false imprisonment, extortion, assault and battery: “mob” is the right word. If transgender activism sold bootleg whiskey or crack instead of patent medicine hormone cures, an alphabetical federal agency would declare war on it.
"This is proof that women need sex-protected spaces,” Gaines tweeted. “Still only further assures me I'm doing something right. When they want you silent, speak louder." If only her voice could be heard over the braying mob, secure in its self-righteous justification. Witches and heretics must burn without debate, for their words are actual violence, i.e. sorcery.
The incident at SFSU last night echoes the stochastic rhetoric from the White House since the Covenant school shooting. President Joe Biden has yet to call any of the stricken families in Nashville. Instead, he maintains that transgender identification is the new sacred caste, for it is “almost sinful” to question their demands, or interrogate the evidence underlying pediatric sterilization.
“Trans kids” are being “attacked” by “discriminatory” state laws that, for example, prohibit boys from imitating Lia Thomas in middle school. Laws to rein in the child-sterilizing cult are denounced as “a dangerous attack on the rights of parents to make the best health care decisions for their own kids.” Instead of consoling the bereaved in Nashville, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre praises “brave” angry children who “fight back.”
A funny thing is happening at the same time, though. Biden administration policy is changing. Not enough, or all at once, but changing, still.
Yesterday, the White House proposed changes that would “bar schools from enacting outright bans on trans athletes,” according to the AP headline. However, “teams could create some limits in certain cases — for example, to ensure fairness,” a grudging move away from the absolute, blanket demand that all males professing “gender identities” should be allowed to cheat at any sports they want, whenever they want.
This verbiage outsources the social and political pressure of forced teaming to the mob: your high school daughter will lose to the boy gracefully because what are you, a transphobe? Does your daughter identify as the child of a transphobe? Huh?!
Rather than a “one size fits all” solution, such as the existing text of Title IX establishing clear sex-based sporting categories, the Biden team wants to “minimize the harm” supposedly done to Lia Thomas and other paraphilic males who want to cheat at sports.
Of course, transgender Twitter reacted with horror, as if this halting admission that “trans women” might not actually be women, even once in a while, is the end of the dream, leaving no future at all the poor, would-be sports cheats. It was everything or nothing, so by giving up anything at all, Biden has left them nothing.
This is the bargaining phase of grief. The American public has become aware of what women are going through in the locker room and the pool and on the playing field and the medal stand. They have seen Lia Thomas elevated and rewarded and they hate it. They do not feel they require further “education”. They are horrified by a doom cult that is openly obsessed with suicide and increasingly homicidal, too. Americans do not like sports cheats, even when they wear lipstick and pronouns.
Democrats may have been slow on the uptake, but they can tell this is a political loser. Add violence, and it becomes political poison.
Some Democrats get this. Here is Marvin Robinson, a Democrat representing District 35 in Kansas. Yesterday, he provided the crucial vote to override Gov. Laura Kelly’s veto of a bill protecting female sports in the state. He was the lone defection from his party in the state House of Representatives.
Bear in mind that African American Democrats are far less likely to believe “trans women are literally women” than white Democrats. Also, bear in mind that women of color have made the greatest advances through Title IX of any American demographic.
Predictably, there were immediate calls to contact Robinson and complain about his “deciding vote” on the veto override. Supporters of male sports cheats were encouraged to call 785-296-8763 and leave him messages, or send nasty emails to Marvin.Robinson@house.ks.gov, but what if Americans filled his inboxes with supportive messages, instead?
Many friends have asked me what we should do, now that it feels so dangerous to speak up. Chris Elston, aka Billboard Chris, can get assaulted and injured by an angry man in a dress, right in front of Canadian police, without consequences. Kellie-Jay Keen requires armed escort to appear in public just so she can let women speak. Escalating violence has people worried. Critics of “gender identity” have already endured so much harassment and deplatforming and outright violence. What’s next?
The answer is that we redouble our efforts. We reward everyone who shows courage, so that courage calls to courage. We speak up, more boldly than ever, and louder than before. We shout and we raise hell and we brook no compromise because we are winning.
Leftist violence in the 1970s did not deter conservative political reaction from gathering force. On the contrary, it empowered the Reagan Revolution, divided Democrats as a party, and discredited police and sentencing reforms for a generation. History does not really repeat, but it does rhyme.
I want to thank gay men who are speaking up for the girls and women!
Thank you for this.
I hope platforms like Medium expel their “trans” activists. I hope the more strident of them, the ones pushing surgery for children, start getting arrested for inciting harm.
And I hope employers start firing the employees who demand special pronouns instead of firing employees who forget to use them.
