Our Sinister Plan To Let 'Trans Rights' Goons Behave Badly In Public Is Working Splendidly
Stop the Presses - 20 September 2022
TITS ON A BORE: By now you will have heard about “Ms. Kayla Lemieux,” the Canadian shop teacher allowed to force his pornographic breast augmentation fetish on students because he claims to have an invisible gendersoul. Not only has the Oakville, Ontario school officially endorsed this act of sexual abuse under the provincial human rights code, but “Ms. Lemieux” enjoys the endorsement of the full liberal establishment. For example, here is the way Media Matters For America frames the story — by reacting against the reaction. If Tucker Carlson is talking about it, then we can safely dismiss it as irrelevant, because we all know that he’s nuts. Right? The guy walking around with the giant silicone sex toy on his chest is living his authentic life, but the man struggling to contain the absurdity in words — what a nut that guy is.

Those of us holding views critical of gender gibberish are used to this sort of gaslighting by now. Nevertheless, it is striking how the apologists for the gibberish have doubled down on their DARVO lately, as if they sense that they are losing control of things. After the Brighton event this weekend, in which gender identitarians exposed themselves as violent, bomb-throwing clowns who scream at infants, it was necessary to reframe their self-ownage as terrorism by people who tweeted about it.

At Brighton, one woman was seen leading a trembling daughter through the crowd, performing the trauma of being among the evil vibrations of terfs. “Trans rights” activism has whipped up this violent rage on purpose, and it physically struck Fred Sargeant yesterday at a Pride march in Burlington. Sargeant, a legend of the Stonewall uprising and historian of gay liberation in his 70s, was beaten and robbed for the crime of carrying a sign that say “GAY NOT QUEER.”

Now, we are not encouraging any responsive violence or escalations here at The Distance. On the contrary. It’s been clear to us for a while that as this confrontation moves offline and into the real world, true believers in the gender cult will get violent, and the whole point of remaining a nonviolent gender critical movement is to let them do that if they want. Chris Elston, better known as Billboard Chris, has been assaulted more than once by self-righteous goons. It doesn’t stop him. Nevertheless, we have to accept beforehand that our actions will be framed as abuse and violence, while actual abuse and violence against us has been and will be dismissed, minimized, and disregarded — until it isn’t. Just keep the receipts and stay safe out there.
LET JULIE SWIM: Port Townsend, WA activist Amy Sousa held a small sing-along on Sunday in solidarity with Julie Jaman, the 80 year-old woman who was banned from the city pool and then attacked by a violent mob for refusing to shower in front of a man. During the 30-minute gathering, participants sang a medley album of gender critical hits, such as “Woman: Adult Human Female,” “I Am Woman, Hear me Roar” (let this woman swim/ this locker room’s for her, not him), “There Once Was A Woman Who Swallowed a Lie,” “Blowing in the Wind” (how many times must a man tell us lies?), and “I Am My Mother’s Savage Daughter.” They also sang along with Mr. Menno’s “Y Chromosome.” But the newsworthy remark came from Julie Jaman herself, subject of a witch-hunt led by her town government, to women everywhere:
There was a little guest opinion piece in our local paper, and the author in that used my name, and we’re talking half a page on a newspaper, little newspaper, used my name fifteen times. That’s called a ‘virtual gallows,’ and that’s what I’ve been subected to, and I think that most of the people that come around me know this is a huge risk, and it is a risk we have to take for our children and for ourselves. Otherwise, we’re no more. Not in the laws, not in the policies, and not in any way are we to be safe or private if we don’t stand up right now about this.
Courage calls to courage, Julie.
STANDARDS OF CARELESS: Instead of a careful reconsideration, the new WPATH guidelines are a complete mess of internal contradictions and activist bunk from the same bunch of quacks as before, but worse.
THEY GET OFF ON CASTRATING BOYS: Benjamin Boyce interviews Genevieve Gluck about the new “eunuch gender” recognized by WPATH guidelines and the disturbing band of fetish-freaks behind it.
FOR THE WINN: A champion of better care for detransitioners, therapist and podcaster Stephanie Winn has published her letter to the Florida Board of Medicine regarding pediatric transition. It is quite a broadside, and given the venue, her brilliance might have a real impact.
Rather than being uniquely suited to make life-altering decisions, just like the rest of us were at their ages, if not more so, these adolescents are in fact highly suggestible, susceptible to social contagion, and not developmentally capable of consenting to the life-altering, permanent decisions involved in so-called “affirming care.” They are often especially socially naive, especially considering rates of autism being higher in this population. They have often been bullied, traumatized, and neglected in various ways. When transgender is trendy — and who can deny that it is? — opting in to that category scores immediate social approval and attention.
Stephanie also had a nice talk with James Esses recently. He is embroiled in litigation with his university in Britain after being removed from his therapy training program for suggesting that tharapists might need to go a bit deeper than self-declared “gender identity” to explore underlying problems that hormones and surgeries can never resolve.
WHERE ‘TRANSPHOBIA’ COMES FROM: Dr. Michael Biggs has written the authoritative historiography of Susie Green, Richard Spack, Oprah Winfrey, and the creation of the '“trans child” out of the so-called Dutch protocol in 2007 and 2008. Adults were far too eager to sterilize their children. “The cofounder of GIRES, whose child had transitioned in their late teens two decades earlier, used the new epithet ‘transphobic’ to describe the cautious clinicians,” Biggs writes. Their efforts led directly to the horror show at Tavistock. No wonder Green didn’t want to testify in her own lawsuit against the LGB Alliance:
Clinicians need to explain how they are sure that some of the adolescents being prescribed GnRHa would not have grown into gay or lesbian adults, with their sexuality and fertility intact.
That is a very nice way of acknowledging that the “affirmative approach” has been a homophobic hate crime supported by men who get off on castrating little boys.
WHEN NOTHING IS REAL: Suzy Weiss reports on a Brooklyn man with politics “the the left of Lenin” who tried to organize a neighborhood watch after a vicious crime, only to find that postmodernist deconstruction undermines every effort to order society, even the most progressive ones.
ABUSIVE MAN HAS GENDER: A man is using the Spanish “gender identity” law to evade justice and continue his abuse of a woman. This is the world that “trans inclusive feminism” makes. It is exactly like the world before feminism, but with rainbow flags and slogans about intersectionality.

PARTICIPATION TROPHY CULTURE: Rob Henderson had a similar life-experience to my own and like me, his eyes were opened to the pampering of the American mind.
I got to college and learned that even though any seat, at least at selective schools, can be filled immediately with a bright applicant (top colleges reject thousands of them each year), students are never ejected for disrespecting professors or anyone else. In the military the first message was, you are a peon and less than nothing and we can easily have you replaced (this changes as you advance in rank, of course—at least to some degree). In college, the first message was, you are amazing and privileged and a future leader (and marginalized and erased) and you will never lose your position here among the future ruling class. That feeling of whiplash will forever linger in my mind.
NOT THE WOMAN KING WE NEED RIGHT NOW: Or ever. No one should look up to the Dahomey “Amazons” reimagined in the new Viola Davis revisionist fantasy film. The real Dahomey was a brutal African kingdom that built an entire economy out of enslaving other Africans and selling them to Europeans. They were some of the last people in the world insisting that the trade slave should continue. The historical “Amazons” portrayed as feminist empowerment symbols in the film were slave-owners and traders themselves. Ritual and casual killing were part of their lifestyle.
But it’s worth noting that Woman King was number one at the box office over the weekend, and theatergoers seemed to like it, judging by the fan score on Rotten Tomatoes, yet no one had to be badgered or called a racist to make them like this movie. Apparently the film is entertaining, however ahistorical. An all-black cast, in an all-black story, and white Americans loved it, because it didn’t have to be all about THE MESSAGE™ and it could just be good, for once. There’s a lesson here, but it’s not the one woke Hollywood wanted.
BURN THE HERETICS: A researcher asked academics on both sides of the gender identity issue about their views. Gender critical academics used evidence and made valid points. Gender identitiarian academics accused their enemies of heresy, but were unable to explain themselves. Gender critical academics complained of silencing and intimidation. Gender identitarian academics bragged about silencing and intimidating their enemies. The researcher drew appropriate conclusions and wrote a paper, so naturally the gender identititarian academics are screaming mad about it and trying to have her banned from the academy, just to put an exclamation point on their absolute totalitarianism. Registration is required to read the research.

DISAMBIGUATION, A DETRANSITION?: Dr. Grande gives his thoughts on Rachel Dolezal and the similarities between transgenderism and transracialism. Her flight from “whiteness,” and the current state of her “identity,” resonate with detransition. There is food for thought here.
DREADNOUGHT DRAINAGE: This video of USS Texas, the world’s last remaining dreadnought-era battleship, being raised out of the water for inspection and repairs is weirdly mesmerizing. She is 105 years old, a queen of the seas that served in both World Wars. The torpedo bulges really stand out in the nighttime illumination After the hull is fixed she will find a new home as a floating museum.
