Resistance To Gender Ideology Started On The Left, Matt Walsh. Get Over It.
I can prove it because time only flows in one direction in this universe
“Social conservatives have to reckon somehow with the fact that it wasn’t us who struck the decisive blows against gender ideology — but uncompromising, biology-first feminists,” Sohrab Ahmari, the editor of UnHerd, wrote on X recently.
“This is not true at all,” conservative podcaster and satirist Matt Walsh responded as if to prove Ahmari’s point. “I’ve been in this movement for many years and the vast majority of the people fighting alongside me have been conservatives.”
Put more honestly, Walsh does not see the American feminists fighting genderwoo because he does not want to see them. “It may be a little different in the UK, but in the US there just is no question that conservatives led this charge.” It is telling that his main concern is partisan political credit.
The death of gender ideology is perhaps the greatest and most decisive conservative cultural victory this century. I have no idea why Sohrab would want to counter signal it or give the credit to feminists, which is an asinine claim.
More importantly, feminism laid the groundwork for gender ideology. Some of them helped fight back against it in the end, but their movement also created this problem to begin with.
No feminists were purged from progressive political institutions a decade ago. Zero avowed feminists ever got mobbed and assaulted at free speech events by antifa goons with progress flags. Feminist women with children caught up in the medicalization cult never started organizing secret message groups.
In Matt Walsh’s imagination, feminists created the problem, and then they all just sat down to let him fix it. This is not an accurate history, it is egotism.
