So What's The Harm In A 'Nonbinary Phase'?

A 'Deadnames' conversation with Exulansic

Exulansic was medicalized into the ‘transmasculine’ identity category in her early 20s as a student at Berkeley. She now lives with the iatrogenic harms of the ‘nonbinary’ experiment carried out on her body. As we discuss in the show, it is not a special category safe from harm. If anything, the category is an ethical Wild West where clinicians are making it up as they go.

Recently, Exulansic embarked on a deep dive into the social media traces left by people who died after receiving ‘gender affirming care’, or took their own lives within two years of medicalization. This is a sobering discussion about the perils of the cutting edge in ‘gender affirmation’.
