After six years of delays resulting from his mental health evaluation, Dana Rivers will finally face trial this week for the brutal murders of his neighbors Patricia Wright, Charlotte Reed, and their adopted son Toto Diambu aka Benny Diambu-Wright (see photo) in 2016.

Observers have suspected that the material facts of the case were too politically incorrect for prosecution in California. At long last, a prosecutor will have to lay out the facts of the case and explain why it was not enough for Rivers to destroy the Michfest music festival that the lesbian couple had loved, such that he felt compelled to take their lives as well.

Celebrated as a trans rights activist before his arrest, Rivers was reportedly found covered in his victims’ blood after stabbing and shooting them, then setting their house on fire.
