Meet Joshua Jernigan, a trans-identifying woman who lives vicariously through minors

This year the Youth & Family Zone at Charlotte Pride is being sponsored by Krispy Kreme Donuts, a company that originated in 1937 in the southern state of North Carolina right in Winston-Salem . The personal care company Proctor & Gamble which produces brands like: Pantene, OralB, Gillette, Pampers, Tide, Dawn, Febreeze and cosmetics such as Olay & Covergirl.

It is also “supported” by the Gender Education Network , a Munchausen Groomer paradise that provides networking for Children 12 and under whose parents insist that they are Trans. 

Last year the sponsor for the Kiddy Zone was Equitable Financial who backed out  of the Sponsorship at the last moment. And the Gender Education Network, which is no surprise since the actual Zone itself was created by Joshua Jernigan & her husband Elliot according to an article written by Charlotte Pride in 2022 titled: CHARLOTTE PRIDE: A FAMILY HOLIDAY.

The Spicy Straight couple has been dragging their adopted daughter to Charlotte Pride since 2016 and she herself noted the gap and how the event did not cater to families which was the entirety of her reasoning for creating the Gender Education Network in 2016: 

“Once we got there, we had Elizabeth, who was one year old at the time, in her carrier,” Joshua says. “Everybody came over and were so welcoming and accepting and just loved that a baby was there. People were excited to see a family there. We had never taken our kid to a Pride festival before. It was so welcoming. It changed our perception of Pride in general — just how welcoming and open Charlotte Pride was.”

Elliott’s work as a mechanical engineer prompted the family’s move. Not long after arriving, Joshua noticed a gap in community services and got to work himself, founding the Gender Education Network in 2018. The community nonprofit is dedicated to trans and gender-expansive children under the age of 12, assisting children and their families in navigating care, education, and social needs. - Spicy Straight Woman Joshua Jernigan 

Charlotte Pride where Toddlers & Tits can Jive 

To Make Matters worse it would be stupid to consider Charlotte Pride “child friendly.” The event has always been considered to be notoriously risqué even before weirdos wanted to include kids. In 2015 the year before the Jernigans moved to Charlotte  was the very year that wanna be “adult film star” Jay Tolo, owner of T.O.L.O. Stars apparel gave out free pasties, and before this he was a vendor at the event.  

And more recently, the parade was criticized by multiple news sources for an incident in 2022 in which Tiffany Baker Co Owner of Pole Body Arts uploaded a clip of herself Pole Dancing with a 3 Year Old. Then the following year in 2023 the Charlotte Pride board made the faux pas of giving a Harvey Milk award to convicted sex offender Chad Severance-Turner, who was convicted for molesting a teenage boy while working as a youth minister at the New Harvest Church of God in Gaffney, South Carolina. 

Kids, Harvey Milk and Sex offenders…… It really gives Krispy Kreme Filled a different feel, doesn’t it?

 So, who is even Joshua Jernigan?

Joshua was born Kimberly Diane McGaha to a large family in Kentucky in 1985. She was a gender nonconforming child and was a little tomboy. She always struggled with her weight and was not particularly blessed in the looks department. I cannot say what she was like, or what her relationship with her family is, as there are not many pictures of her online, but she was always included in family photos.

Her husband Elliot Vincent Jernigan began appearing in her family’s photos circa 2010. It is not known whether or not they were dating or married at the time but Kim presented more of as a butch woman. She did not bind her chest and or show any signs of taking testosterone. The two decided to adopt a little girl circa 2015 . Their adoption was covered by Queen City News in 2017 portraying it as a “Queer Adoption” between 2 fathers. Kimberly did not show any signs of masculinization in the pictures featured in the documentary, but she was starting to lose her hair at the time of the interview.

They focus heavily on the child being a little girl, fortunately the child has not been raised as transgender. The entire situation is quite strange since she did marry Elliot as a woman, adopted the little girl as a straight couple and her family refers to her as Kimberly in Family Photos well up until 2019.

The Looping in Jernigan’s Story

An interview by the Dear Patriarchy Podcast titled “Joshua Jernigan: The truth about gender-affirming care for trans children” provided some more insights into Kimberly Jernigan. The podcast was recorded in December of 2022 and it is evident that Kim likes to project the current legislative fight to her childhood experiences in her rambling (20 minute mark): 

But for right now, your child is allowed to use the bathroom of their gender identity. 

This is something that I just got off the phone with a parent about because they're fighting this with their daughter. 

And I’m like talking to this parent,  she's like, I don't know what to do. 

I'm like, let me this is where I come in handy. This is this is what I do. This is this is my job. I already have these emails saved because I've used them a ton of times over the last few years. 

So you know, yes, the mandatory outings to me as that little queer kid who didn't grow up in an unnecessarily progressive or supportive household is the most terrifying because had someone called my parents I don't know what their response would have been when I was super young. I know what the response was when I was older. 

But I don't know what the response would have been when I was, you know, seven, eight, had I gone to my school counselor about this. 

Now, I also grew up where I was in a small area and my counselor knew my parents and so there's just no reason I was ever going to do that nonsense. 

But however, had I, had I gone and done that.

I think the fact that someone had to mandatorily call my parents and tell them my gender identity, my sexual orientation, who I was crushing on that week. At school, like, that is terrifying to me. - Kimberly McGaha Jernigan 

Kimberly is 37 years old. Medicalization of minors was not even remotely normalized by mainstream media until I am Jazz  aired in 2015. And she did not transition until well into adulthood. She is also married to a man and didn’t even “identify” into homosexuality until 2016. She is unwell. It might even be a matter of desiring to be included into a special category at any costs. 

The interview also revealed that she got her adopted daughter into drag thus the reason for her hosting Charlotte Drag Story Hour, which is also included at the Youth zone (28 minute mark) : 

Yeah, so one of the things that got me involved in Drag Story Hour,  was I saw a video performance of it. But not only that, my kid just so happened to be sitting on my lap at that time.

And this was the end of 2018. So she was three ... 3 in  2018 Yeah, I can map that's fine. She was three-ish. And she just so happened to come on my lap when I was watching this video of this drag performance and she was enthralled. Now this kid is not wanting to sit still and let you read her. She'll let you read to her at night and occasionally she'll come up in your lap but that's how you know she's getting sick.It's when she wants you to like actually physically read her book. 

She is not a sit down kid. But she watched this video of this queen, I want to say that it was out of New York, but it really could have been out of anywhere. I don't actually know. But she watched this Queen Reed and she was enthralled. 

And I was like wow. Like I've never seen her sit still this long.

And I made an offhand comment to my husband about it because he sits behind me in the office and you know we didn't think anything else of it. 

And then my friend contacted me and she's like, I really want to do this. I really want to do this. 

And so I was like, okay, you know, I saw this performance. It was great. It was that simple to get involved. - Kimberly McGaha Jernigan 

Kim, you are an adult!! You are the Parent! What the fu*k are you thinking?!!!

And that is not all.

Last year Queen City News interviewed her again but this time she went on a woosh rant about how a “Queer Trans and Disabled” massage parlor was so important to her.

YouTube commentators were clearly creeped out and referred to her as the Lollipop Guild from the Munchkins. It is completely clear that she bases her entire life out of her gender identity, all because she wants to “identify” into the gay lifestyle … and it gets worse.

Jernigan’s activism is a Grooming Rabbit hole

She is involved in several groomer projects besides Drag Story Hour & the Gender Education Network. In 2022, the Freedom Center of Social Justice Launched a Project called #Forthemtoo, which pushes the notion of children being trans and needing books about transness.  

The launch was at Discovery Place. Qnotes gave a brief glimpse of the event, even name dropping local politicians in attendance such as: Charlotte City Councilwoman Dimple Ajmera, Mecklenburg County Commissioner Leigh Altman, and Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools’ Board of Education member Jennifer De La Jara.

Gender Education Network is named as an allied organization along with Time Out Youth, Transcend Charlotte, PedoFlag, and Charlotte Trans health.  Sex offender Chad Severance Turner was also in attendance. A video of the event is available on Facebook. 

She Employs and Networks with Questionable Figures 

Joshua employs a drag queen named Shelita Bonnet Hoye who was recently featured in an MSNBC Documentary titled “It's Ok.” The documentary attempts to normalize Drag Queens Reading to Children. Shelita was recently outed by a local activist and journalist Sloane Rachmut on X for sharing sexualized pictures of himself to social media. The photos pictured the Drag queen Nude on his Instagram Page and a selfie with a Puppy Play BDSM Pup. 

Jernigan discussed his professional relationship with Shelita in an article published by Queen City News in August of 2023. She describes Hoyle as their main drag queen . It is baffling that she would not discuss having a “clean” or “child friendly” online presence with her performers. 

She Attended & Spoke at a Groomer Conference

On April June 15th of 2023, Kimberly McGaha Jernigan attended and spoke at the 2023 Intersectional Dynamic Pride Conference held by Union County Pride’s Cristal Robinson. The Thursday morning panel included 2 very questionable speakers: Sex Offender Chad Severance-Turner, and Candelario Saldana, the President of The Pauli Murray Barr Association, who has a horrible habit of wearing a Pedophile Cape™ to fundraisers. 

Kimberly’s Speech revolved about her favorite topic: “Transgender and Gender Diverse Kids.” Her presentation featured magical pink and blue unicorns and is a total of 36 agonizing minutes long. She mostly rambles about ridiculous things like how there are as many identities as there are people in the non-binary world, that Republicans force Intersex kids to have surgeries at birth, and she describes the needs of children she views to be transgender by age range.

She Is Advocating for DEIAB Works to be put in Charlotte Mecklenburg Libraries

Recently Kimberly Jernigan was tagged in a post by Charlotte Gaymers Network’s Jonny Saldana in a post noting how they were lobbying to get DEIAB works in the library. This is essentially DEI books by GLSEN featuring gender identity and sexuality. It is important to note that Jonny is married to pedo cape lawyer Candelario Saldana, and that they both wore these capes to their wedding. This is exactly who you want to listen to in regards to what books your children should read.

And to make ,atters even worse. the Charlotte Gaymer’s Stage is going to be located right on the same street as the kiddy zone, on Levine Avenue!

And now for the worst of it ……….

Jernigan is a part of a Homeschooler Curriculum for Crazy People

Secular Eclectic Academic is a self described  “Community for Secular Homeschoolers” They provide resources to 100,000 families and one of their educators just happens to be Joshua/Kimberly Jernigan. The course she is currently offering is named “Prioritizing Inclusive Homeschool Spaces.” Let’s pass the social contagion on!

All which are honestly excessive for any kid who is 12 years old or younger. As a bisexual woman myself, I would have stayed in the closet for eons, or opted out of existence, if some weird creepy adult gave me excessive lectures about how everyone is some long acronym that was constantly victimized. Kids don’t want to identify into marginalization, they just want to play. They don’t care about your weird revisionist history, or activism, or your childhood. Children are not sexual and they do not have any inkling of a sexuality besides innocent crushes until Puberty Tanner Stage 4. 

And they shouldn’t be at Pride. Thank you for ruining a good thing for LGB adults who just wanted to day drink and talk to hot lesbians, Kimberly.

Damn it, Kim! Just leave the kids alone!
