Also, “Muslims are now a voting bloc,” he announces, as if Muslims are an evenly-distributed demographic in America. Once upon a time, Muslims were a Republican demographic, but then progressive politics staked out the moral high ground of anti-Islamophobia in 2010 because the left thought they could win elections with Muslim votes. Perhaps that is true in Manhattan today when your primary opponent is Andrew Cuomo, but is it true for Democrats more generally?

Goulden is a good example of how solidarity can erase differences. “I’m sure there are people who voted for Zohran who are transphobic, I’m sure there are people … who don’t have the best opinions of others,” Goulden said, possibly referring to the kind of Jews who don’t love Palestine.

Because what matters in the end is not principle, but power. “With Zohran, we’re in basically the best possible position to seize state power.” Goulden feels as if his career is finally bearing fruit. “DSA has regular meetings with him, let alone his team. His policy director is my friend. I've been working with his campaign manager for well over a year.”

“All of a sudden my work shifts from being on the outside to thinking about how to utilize the fairly significant municipal power of New York City,” the most important metropolitan area in the United States and the financial center of the globe. If anyone can destroy capitalism, Zohran can.

Transgenderism is the “tip of the spear,” Daniel Goulden says. “New York City could provide trans healthcare for every trans person in the country who… can’t afford it—and it would be a blip on our radar.” When the city is broke, the subways are broken, and the police have been defunded, there will be perfect gender communism.

This is clearly what Karl Marx wanted. It all makes perfect, logical sense. It simply has not been tried yet. What could possibly go wrong?
