It’s all over but the shouting. There has already been a great deal of shouting about last week’s decision by the UK supreme court that so-called ‘trans women’ are men. The shouting has not stopped, nor will it stop soon, but it is going to change. It will have to change, because this outsanding legal defeat by a unanimous court was entirely self-inflicted by the transgender lobby on itself.
Stonewall had an entire business model based on lying about British law in the form of legal advice to entities and organizations across government and society. Activists made their wish-list into de facto law by simply insisting it was so. At times, this process has exhibited similarities to the absurd American phenomenon of co-called ‘sovereign citizen’ law. At other times, it has involved sinister police visits over tweets because someone claimed special protections under the law that never actually existed.
Wherever British courts have given serious consideration to ‘Stonewall law,’ it has predictably failed by the end of the process. Yet an entire cohort of British citizens has been conditioned to believe they had the law on their side, so of course they are upset. They were lied to. They lied to themselves. Now their lies are over. They need some new lies.
