Trump Trans Sports Order Makes Perfect Sense To Nearly 4 Out Of 5 Americans
The long march back to sanity in female sports
For three thousand years, women had ‘the wrong bodies’ for sports. Then came Title IX, which mandated sports for women in federally-funded education programs. This genius legislation lasted for fifty years, when suddenly, for reasons that defy understanding, male bodies ceased to exist, so that a man’s body became female through the magic of self-declaration.
Women were forced to change in locker rooms with men, and compete against men, whenever any man declared himself to have feelings of being female. As was predictable, and predicted, this led to many outrageous situations and some serious injuries among women forced to compete with males. Anyone who complained about this insanity was socially ostracized, if not personally and professionally destroyed.
Because this injustice came wrapped in the absurd drag costume of an American civil rights cause, male privilege reigned globally, from the swimming pool to the volleyball court to the soccer field to the track, as over nine hundred males claimed trophies, medals, and even sports scholarships that had been set aside for females.
We were all living inside an episode of South Park, a perversity that has been justified solely on the basis of a man’s feelings about himself and his ‘identity.’ This nonsensical narrative still holds the entire world of corporate media in thrall.
Lia Thomas is a man who gets a thrill from imposing his penis on women, taking things from women, ignoring their boundaries. Thomas got special treatment by the NCAA and a Sports Illustrated cover. Legacy media still do not examine his real motivations.
Mr. Thomas is typical of what Americans have come to loathe about so-called ‘transgender inclusion’ in sports — as well as everyone who shills for it. Sports Illustrated is struggling to stay in business. So is the Democratic Party.
But the long ideological tail of transgenderism resists the inevitable collision with reality. There are still federal judges who think that so-called ‘intersex conditions,’ or congenital disorders of sexual development (DSDs), represent a diversity of human sexes. Ana Reyes of the District Court of the US District of Columbia insists “there are people who are neither male nor female.” That is an elite ideology talking.
Three weeks ago, Donald Trump issued an executive order, “Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports,” in a bid to bring this “demeaning, unfair, and dangerous” era of insanity to a swift and total end.
One fact check is in order: the fact sheet issued with the executive order (EO) claims that “Roughly seven in 10 Americans oppose men in women’s sports.” This understates just how popular Trump’s EO is. Show me the last time that anyone in either Trump administration made an understatement.
The actual number, according to the most recent New York Times Ipsos poll, is 79 percent opposed to males in female sports, or about 4 out of 5 Americans surveyed. Trump’s EO is as popular with Americans as Trident sugarless gum is with dentists.
The Trump order is ambitious. It also leans into what the chattering classes are now calling “the great vibe shift,” going much further than college or high school or amateur athletics in the United States.
Trump has set out to restore sanity at the International Olympic Committee. While the American president has little real influence over the IOC, the organization already has strong contenders for the next chairmanship, most prominently but not exclusively Lord Sebastian Coe, pledged to restore the integrity of sex-based competition categories.
Trump directed the Secretary of State to ensure that “eligibility for participation in women’s sporting events is determined according to sex and not gender identity or testosterone reduction.” The Department of Homeland Security will prevent any trans-identifying males from entering the United States to compete against females in sports competitions.
Because almost all international competitions pass through the United States, enforcing these policies would inhibit male cheating at female sports globally. As a practical matter, enforcement is easy: athletes need only receive a buccal cheek swab to establish eligibility. As a legal matter, activists will complain that their human rights are under attack, while some number of activists in judicial robes will listen.
As a political matter, some blue state governments — California, Minnesota, Washington, Maine, Vermont — are already resisting the executive order, letting boys cheat at girls’ sports. As an administrative matter, the new NCAA policy has serious weaknesses. WDI International says it is “not even close to being in alignment” with Trump’s order.
As many of us had expected, implementation of this common-sense policy is turning out to be much harder than writing an order that makes sense to four out of five Americans. The reason why this is so hard is that so much unreason has been allowed to go unanswered for so long. The false god of ‘inclusion’ inspires the false consensus.
So how do you kill a god?
According to the EO fact sheet, sports bodies will be summoned to the White House to hear women’s experiences with males in their sports, lockers, and showers. “More than 7,000 NCAA female athletes have personally reached out to the NCAA to change its policies, comply with Title IX, and protect women.”
Trump would convene the state attorneys general “to identify best practices in defining and enforcing equal opportunities for women to participate in sports and educate them about stories of women and girls who have been harmed by male participation in women’s sports.”
It is a welcome proposal. The female opponents and teammates of William ‘Lia’ Thomas did in fact suffer “endangerment, humiliation, and silencing” as well as the deprivation of privacy cited in the executive order. Most professional news organizations have deliberately ignored their experiences as “hateful” and “transphobic,” and they still do.
Those are the same news organizations that reacted to the Trump executive order by whining in headlines that Trump is being mean to “transgender women,” “trans girls,” or some other such nonsense phrase meant to obscure the injustice of males being privileged to cheat women out of their sports, rob them of their safety, and ignore their right to privacy.
Women and girls have not been heard. May Trump succeed at getting them a hearing. It has been too long in coming.

Even now, it is possible that only C-SPAN and Fox News will cover the event, while the Associated Press, New York Times, BBC, NPR, NBC, CBS, ABC et al simply ignore the whole, horrible ‘transphobic’ affair. It won’t matter.
This will be a ‘new media’ story. Americans no longer get their news and information from those sources, anyway, because they have learned to distrust ‘old media.’ News consumers hear the phrase “fairness to transgender women” from Rachel Maddow and hear ‘male special pleading’ instead, because they know that’s what it actually means in practice.
People tend to not vote for politicians who lie to them that male bodies have no advantages in sports, who argue that fairness and safety and privacy for women matter less than the feelings of a man about himself and his pronouns, and then claim to represent the interests of women.
No one is buying talk of working class values from any politico who pretends they don’t know what a woman is, or that there are more than two sexes, or that it doesn’t matter when males cheat at female sports. The era of weaponized empathy is over.
Litigation will grind out the issue. Parents are suing California over a state law that lets males cheat at sports in violation of Title IX. Teammates of Lia Thomas are suing the University of Pennsylvania for violating Title IX, asking a federal judge to vacate his “records” in 500-, 200-, and 100-yard freestyle swims. Win or lose, their stories are going to be heard. This is now a story competition.
Years ago, and again and again over the last several years, I repeatedly warned Democrats and progressive activists of every category that they were setting themselves up for massive failure. On this issue, they lose just by fighting. They inspire public distrust.
No new voter is buying Democrats as ‘the party of women’ as long as they are the party that debates how “nonbinary” people will count in the “gender balance” of committees.
Americans have seen men cheating at sports for women and girls, making them unsafe, destroying their privacy, and they have had enough. New confrontations are being set up that transgender advocacy will lose because they have already lost the public.
Continued resistance by Democrats, administrators, and legacy media will prove their undoing. They call it ‘the right side of history’ and even pretend that it is ‘science,’ but they are just worshipping idols. Idols can be smashed.
