"The GEF funds Stonewall’s Alliance Against Hate Crime project in Georgia, Romania and Bulgaria, which the charity said worked to 'improve support for victims of hate crime, and to advance dialogue with police and law enforcement stakeholders on adapting their systems and victim support to be more sensitive to the needs of the LGBTQ+ community.'"

Here is what Chat GPT has to say about conditions for gay people in those countries:

=======================================================================

LGBTQ+ rights and social acceptance vary significantly in Georgia, Romania, and Bulgaria, but overall, these countries tend to have conservative attitudes toward LGBTQ+ issues, with varying degrees of legal protections and challenges.

Georgia 🇬🇪

Legal Status: Homosexuality has been legal since 2000, and anti-discrimination laws were introduced in 2014 to protect LGBTQ+ individuals.

Same-Sex Marriage: Not recognized, and the Constitution was amended in 2018 to explicitly define marriage as between a man and a woman.

Public Attitudes: Georgia remains a conservative and religious society, with strong opposition from the Orthodox Church. Public opinion is largely negative toward LGBTQ+ people.

Pride Events & Safety: Attempts at organizing Tbilisi Pride have faced violent counter-protests, making public LGBTQ+ visibility difficult and dangerous.

Romania 🇷🇴

Legal Status: Homosexuality has been legal since 2001. There are anti-discrimination laws, but enforcement can be weak.

Same-Sex Marriage: Not recognized. A 2018 referendum attempted to constitutionally ban same-sex marriage but failed due to low turnout.

Public Attitudes: Generally conservative, with strong opposition from the Orthodox Church. Younger generations in cities tend to be more accepting.

Pride Events & Safety: Bucharest Pride occurs regularly but requires heavy police protection due to opposition from far-right groups.

Bulgaria 🇧🇬

Legal Status: Homosexuality has been legal since 1968. There are some anti-discrimination protections, but hate crimes based on sexual orientation are not explicitly addressed.

Same-Sex Marriage: Not recognized. The Constitution defines marriage as between a man and a woman.

Public Attitudes: One of the most conservative EU countries regarding LGBTQ+ rights, with widespread societal stigma.

Pride Events & Safety: Sofia Pride has taken place since 2008, but is often met with protests and threats from far-right groups.

Overall Comparison & Challenges

None of these countries recognize same-sex marriage or civil partnerships.

All three are socially conservative, especially in rural areas.

LGBTQ+ people often face discrimination, hate speech, and sometimes violence.

EU pressure has led to some legal improvements in Romania and Bulgaria, but cultural resistance remains strong.

If this is substantially accurate, there probably is a need for organized efforts to "improve support for victims of hate crime, and to advance dialogue with police and law enforcement stakeholders on adapting their systems and victim support to be more sensitive to the needs of" gay people.

As a gay person and an American taxpayer, I don't object to U.S. tax dollars being used to advance gay right overseas. God knows (no pun intended) that American Fundiegelicals are active stirring up anti-gay sentiment in other countries.

What I don't want my tax money to do is pay for trans evangelists to go forth and infect other societies with the gender identity ideology mind virus and with the values and language of American wokeism.

I hope that Trump and his administration are able to follow through effectively and promptly on Trump's executive orders that seek to roll back the many excesses of trans activism. I also hope the sometimes unvarnished language in those orders does not hand the federal courts, including the Supreme Court in the Skrmetti case, an excuse to find that trans is constitutionally protected status like race and sex for the purposes of civil rights legislation.

I ran this through my pulp fiction book generator who understood it all.

A sinister organization of hooker impersonators Zinger has been micro dosing Silicon Valley with a drug called “candy flip” to milk them of money to fund world domination. A intrepid CIA Analyst/Male prostitute named Calum discovered the web of deceit when his sugar daddy Mitch McConnell was dosed by candyflip and spaced out in public. He investigates with a hot but gay news reporter Jeremy who was his lead to uncover the Zingers. Jeremy and Calum then stumble across a sinister plot during a ForFanOnly session where they find the Zingers are working to destabilize the UK government via an organization called “Stoneball” which has been funded by the zoned tech moguls and US aid organizations.

They race against time and plots to murder them having been discovered during the OnlyFans session as they race to stop the Zingers from exacting revenge for funding loss by blowing up Parliament and the US Capitol. Will they make it? Suddenly tech moguls coming out of their stupors help them foil the plot at the last minute, and the Analyst, the Reporter, and Rupert Everett their OnlyFans UK buddy return to the US triumphant but closed-mouth.
