Rep. Sarah McBride Tells Dems To Double Down On Totalitarian Genderwoo

Just make it nicer, harder to pin down. Also, switch the topic to billionaires

Delaware Rep. Sarah McBride went on At Our Table, the podcast of former DNC chair Jaime Harrison, to encourage Democrats to speak up in defense of transgender sports cheats. McBride complained that Democrats “don’t know how to respond, not because they don’t know what they believe or how they feel, but because they feel like there is no way to respond in a way that doesn’t result in everyone yelling at them.”

While it is true that transgender activists will immediately destroy any Democrat who dares to suggest that men should not be in women’s sports, it is also true that Democrats invoke the fury of the masses by taking the incredibly unpopular position that males belong in female sports to any degree whatsoever, anywhere, at any time.

McBride thinks there is middle ground. “You can grapple with concerns around, for instance, trans people participating in sports, acknowledge that there are very real questions out there. But who is best able to answer those questions about how to balance respect and fairness in women’s sports? It’s not 435 members of Congress who know nothing about women’s sports and even less about trans people. It’s the individual athletic associations that understand their sports the best,” McBride asserted.

On planet earth, of course, Congress already figured this out in 1972 when they passed Title IX, explicitly creating sex-based sports equality in law. Only the machinations of blinkered activists made it possible for anyone to misunderstand the plain language and intent of the statute in such a way that Lia Thomas could make it onto the trophy stand, to say nothing to the women’s locker room.

On planet McBride, the best argument Democrats can make is that they are unqualified to decide whether men can cheat at women’s sports. Moral cowardice is supposed to attract the voters. Democrats beware: this is pure copium. Rear-guard efforts to preserve transgender sports cheating ‘rights’ one league or sport at a time will absolutely fail, and drag Democrats even further down.

McBride does not offer any talking points or advice on how to sell this non-solution. Instead, he deflects to the proletarian appeal laced with sour grapes: Republicans don’t really care about women’s sports! They just want to “line the pockets” of the fatcat corporations and billionaires. They just use men cheating at women’s sports as a distraction from their REAL AGENDA, which does not sound the least bit paranoid.

“And I think we have to be crystal clear about that while also pushing back against these attacks in ways that doesn’t dismiss everyone with a question or a concern as a closed-minded bigot,” McBride said. Make the same totalitarian demands — ‘trans women are women’ — but be nicer about it. Make it harder to pin down. His advice to Democrats is snake oil and they should not swallow it.

If any Democrats with power to get the attention of the party happen to be reading this, please explain to your friends that the project of insinuating ‘trans rights’ into American civic religion is over. No, I am not going to use female pronouns for Timothy ‘Sarah’ McBride, and I do not have to use them because I am an American. I use my freedom of speech to express truths, one of those truths being that McBride is a man, and that he can never, ever be a woman. I represent a substantial majority.

Transgenderism falls into the category of ‘luxury beliefs’, a term coined by writer Rob Henderson for the ideas and opinions that signify elite social status. Key to understanding why the public hates luxury beliefs is that the newly-imposed social norms and rules of the belief benefit an elite minority at the expense of everyone else deemed to hold less privilege.

‘Trans sports inclusion’ is a privilege for men to cheat at sports. Zero women are racking up sports trophies as ‘trans men’ in men’s sports. The benefits of this luxury belief accrue entirely to one sex, which is patent sex discrimination. Elite women who dismiss this because ‘trans rights’ matter more than fair competition will naturally receive scorn for it. Democrats do not defend men in women’s sports because it is indefensible. All attempts to defend it are risible.

Beyond sports, ‘transgender inclusion’ creates further travesties and injustices that repel normal people. The Loudon County, Virginia public school system suspended two boys from Stone Bridge High School this week “because of their interactions with a female student who identifies as male, and chooses to use the boys’ locker room at school.” Note the use of the word “chooses,” because adopting a transgender identity gives you choices that regular people don’t get.

Turning Title IX on its head, LCPS started an investigation into the two boys after a girl who ‘identifies’ as a boy recorded the boys asking her why she was in their locker room. Normally, Title IX protects single-sex spaces. Normally, LCPS policy prohibits recording in the locker room. But this particular girl is special. She gets to break the rules. She has not been suspended — the boys have.

LCPS told Josh Hetzler, the attorney for both families, that their Title IX office has found both boys guilty of “sexual harassment and sex-based discrimination.” They are boys who “harassed” a girl by knowing she is a girl and asking why she was in their locker room.

Renae Smith, mother to one of the boys, told a local ABC affiliate the decision is “shocking. It's wrong, and it should terrify every single parent.” She is right, and it does terrify parents, and also Democrats should be utterly terrified that the whole American nation associates this depraved moral inversion exclusively with their party. McBride has no suggestions for overcoming the backlash. Someone should ask him. (Others have tried, but of course those people were transphobic bigots.)

Smith and Seth Wolfe, the father of the other boy, “believe LCPS is sending a message that any student who expresses views that disagree with so-called Policy 8040 will be punished.” Children are not allowed to be uncomfortable, to express discomfort, to have any boundaries in Loudon County. A groomer’s paradise.

“They're going to have to follow what Loudoun County says, what they believe is right, and what goes against other people's beliefs, or what we believe is right," said Wolfe.

The Trump Department of Education has determined that LCPS bathroom and locker policies violate Title IX and cut federal funding for the district. Republican Virginia Lt. Governor Winsome Earle-Sears, who is currently creeping up on Democrat Abigail Spanberger in the governor’s race, came out with a strong statement that called the policy “ludicrous.”

Boys are not comfortable undressing in front of nude girls in the same locker room, in spaces that they were not normally have access to. The boys are saying this, and the boys who should be applauded are not being applauded. Instead, they're being punished for something that's common sense. You know, for me, biological differences do matter. It's not political, it's common sense. And it's parental rights, really. So, I'm speaking for parents and families all across Virginia. This is nonsense.

If Earle-Sears actually catches up with Spanberger, then Democrats should ask Mr. McBride some hard questions about the wisdom of ‘standing up’ for a cause that consistently kills their chances with voters.

It is worth remembering that Glenn Youngkin, the outgoing governor, was elected against expectations in 2021 after the LCPS board had a father arrested for complaining about his daughter being raped by a boy who identified as transgender in a restroom at Stone Bridge High School, and it turned out the boy had done it before at his previous school.

Democrats have a problem. They are seen both as soft on crime, and also as the reason why their local school district has criminalized disagreement. McBride thinks the problem is that Democrats just aren’t brave enough to get yelled at. The actual problem is that people feel unsafe to speak at all, so when they do finally speak out, their speech often includes a fair bit of anger: ‘What the hell are you doing?!’

This is why I do not use pronouns or respect the Delaware representative’s magical, mystical, invisible, ineffable ‘identity’. To participate in his pretend-game is an inherently political act, a submission to totalitarian demands that are noxious to a free society. I will not. You cannot make me. I would rather die than submit. And I vote.

“Of the 30 states that track voter registration by political party, Democrats lost ground to Republicans in every single one between the 2020 and 2024 elections — and often by a lot,” Shane Goldmacher and Joseph Smith report at The New York Times. “That four-year swing toward the Republicans adds up to 4.5 million voters, a deep political hole that could take years for Democrats to climb out from.”

It’s happening in all 30 states the New York Times looked at. Red, blue, or purple, everywhere in America “fewer and fewer Americans are choosing to be Democrats.” Democrats lost half their national registration advantage between 2020 and 2024, a key shift that led to the November election result, and now things are not getting any better.

“I don’t want to say, ‘The death cycle of the Democratic Party,’ but there seems to be no end to this,” said Michael Pruser, who tracks voter registration closely as the director of data science for Decision Desk HQ, an election-analysis site. “There is no silver lining or cavalry coming across the hill. This is month after month, year after year.”

The basic problem is that, aside from black Americans, who are slipping, there is no demographic that can be registered to vote and then reliably vote for Democrats. The Hispanic voters that progressive nonprofits spent all that cash to register ended up voting for Trump. Democrats have lost men, so registering male voters works against them.

How did Democrats get to this place? Timothy ‘Sarah’ McBride is one of the most important answers to this question. His presence in the party serves to remind everyone why they dislike Democrats. When Democrats attempt to enforce the new social codes and taboos on unwilling Americans, they create resentments that express in the ballot booth years before the voter changes their party registration. Indeed, the act of switching parties usually happens only some years after the voter has already switched their vote.

If Democrats did the smartest thing — if they said ‘no’ to McBride, agreed that men don’t belong in women’s sports or spaces, and joined the outrage against punishing children for knowing what a girl is — they would need years to win back the ground they have lost.

In the meantime, the Democratic National Committee is losing the money race to the RNC. It is not even close. “The RNC now has a $70+ million cash on hand advantage, w/$84.3M to the DNC's $13.9M,” Rob Pyers, director of the non-partisan California Target Book, reports on X. According to their latest monthly FEC filing, the DNC was “outraised by the RNC (again) $13.06M to $8.54M,” their “worst July since 2019.”

Democrats are still paying the price for decisions made in 2023 and 2024. “Months after losing the 2024 election, Kamala Harris continues to be a drag on the DNC's finances, the [committee] paying off $895K in coordinated party expenditures in July,” Pyers adds. “Over 1 in 5 dollars the DNC has raised this year went to paying off coordinated expenditures for Harris '24.”

Timothy ‘Sarah’ McBride is a very close associate of the Biden family and he has leveraged that access into success within the party, as well as his very blue district. He is yet another holdover of the Obama-Biden progressive era that is holding back Democrats, now, just like Kamala’s campaign debt. American voting and contribution trends are decisively rejecting identitarian politics, and ‘transgender’ is the most totalizing identitarian politics of all.

‘Gender identity’ makes Democrats seem insane. It makes them look like foolish people who put the well-being of children at risk for no reason, who let paraphilic men cheat at women’s sports, who pretend not to know what a woman is. Democrats have convinced themselves that they are on the right side of history, but they are on the wrong side of voters, and now they are on the wrong side of funders, too.

Democrats who use female pronouns for McBride confuse or annoy the majority of Americans who vote. Democrats who insist that other people use female pronouns for McBride annoy or infurate a supermajority of Americans who vote. Rep. McBride does not offer a way out of this dilemma, instead he wants Democrats to join him in the final redoubt and continue the cult messaging until the end. It is the siren call of electoral Götterdämmerung.
