We Will Award $10,000,000 For A Nonbinary Specimen Of Australopithecus
With a body of scientific evidence
The human animal evolved ~230,000 years ago with a life cycle, just like every other animal has a life cycle. Part of the human life cycle is adolescence.
No one enjoys adolescence. It is awkward, dangerous, and full of terrors. It has always been that way.
Anyone who says that modern medicine has cured the human life cycle is a fraud, full stop. Puberty is not a disease. There is no cure for puberty except for puberty. None of us knows who we are going to be as adults until we become adults.
To halt or alter the course of a child’s puberty in hopes of improved cosmetic results is pure vanity, and not by the child. Children cannot consent to halted puberty. Parents cannot consent to emotional blackmail with fake suicide statistics.
Nature, not any god, shaped humans in two sexes because nature does not give a damn about what any person wants, or whether someone changes the dictionary definition of “woman” or not.
Nature cares about gene transmission, full stop.
Not the fashionable nonsense of flat earth sex-denial.
Not your feelings.
Your “identity” and sense of personal authenticity do not even rate, with nature.
There is nothing else that nature wants from human sexes other than the making of new humans. Nothing. No demands on our behavior or hobbies or dreams or clothing or use/not use of makeup arise out of nature. Heteronormativity is one thing, the reality that gene transmission is a heterosexual process is quite another. All of us, of every sexuality, came from a heterosexual combination of genes.
If nature did not want us transmitting our genes to another generation of humans, there would be no human sexes at all. Regardless of our individual sexuality, we humans would not have evolved to be humans without exactly two (2) human sexes.
Pedophile sexologist John Money convinced everyone to use “gender” instead of sex in 1955. Nature does not care that any humans think of those words as synonyms, or that some of them are out of their minds to treat sex mimics as the real thing.
Sex mimics exist in nature, sure, but they are not the opposite sex. Sex mimics are mimics.
Nature has billions of years on Martine Rothblatt and John Money. Nature will outlast Dylan Mylvaney and Ellen/Elliot Page. Nature will outlast the legacy of gender gibberish.
Nature will win. It will always win and there is nothing any person can do about that because we are mortal. If we were not mortal, then nature would not want us to pass on our genes. We would not evolve. There would be no sexes.
We can never escape nature. Anyone who says otherwise is selling you a religion.
The Distance is proud to offer a $10 million prize to anyone who can present us with a specimen of Australopithecus confirmed by science to be “nonbinary.”
Note that the sex of the specimen must be positively identified. A skeleton, whole or partial, of unidentified or indeterminate sex will not be considered for the prize. All submissions must be in the form of a specimen that has been identified as a “nonbinary” ancestor of Homo sapiens, that is, the specimen must be confirmed to exhibit a human sex that is neither male nor female.
The winning submission must come with a body of peer-reviewed scientific literature establishing the basis of the “nonbinary” identity of the skeleton using non-circular definitions and terms. No sexist stereotypes will be accepted as evidence. So-called intersex conditions will not be considered because we offer a separate prize related to this red herring talking point.
It is weird that the creationists of this era no longer thump bibles, but wave incoherent progress flags and lecture us on pronouns. We remember how James Randi dealt with magicians before, and so we recall his genius now.
We remember that we are male and female, crave the love and attention of male or female, evolved from eons of time to know and want the difference. We object to its erasure in law and society. This is the record of our dissent.
We do not need any help putting together a prize for a nonbinary specimen of human ancestors. We do ask our readers to help support our work. Please consider buying a subscription for yourself or the TERF in your life, or donating a subscription, and thank you for making our work possible.
Great essay! Pit yourself against nature as humans have been doing at ever-accelerating speed since the Industrial Revolution and nature will always win.
That said, I will take issue with "No one enjoys adolescence. It is awkward, dangerous, and full of terrors." My adolescence was not awkward or dangerous or full of terrors despite my mother choosing to turn our family life into utter chaos. She dragged me all over hell's half acre and I just went, facing a new school at least once a year if not two or three times. What had I been given? A lot of love and attention as a baby and toddler, not just my mother but my two older sisters. I was very independent and innocent, and I just waited at each new school to make friends. No one I knew seemed particularly tortured including my two best friends in ninth grade who were called lesbians (one was, one wasn't, and did the idiots saying this even know what a lesbians was?).
